In this article you will be reading about the following things about Chiropractic:

  • Chiropractic Examination.
  • Chiropractic Diagnosis.
  • Chiropractic Adjustments.
  • Exercise and Chiropractic.

Chiropractic Examination:

Chiropractic examination will have three parts: a consultation, case history, and physical examination. Sometimes X-ray studies may be performed.

  • Consultation: The consultation is the part where the patient with misalignments meets the doctor and tell about his or her back pain. The physician has a discussion about the frequency of the pain, the description of the symptom, and the areas in the back which hurt and when the pain increases.
  • Case History: Case history deals with the physician analyzing the details he got from the patient during the consultation. The physician further learns about the patient’s family history, food habits, other misalignment treatment or therapies taken previously.
  • Physical Examination: The physician analyzes the spine with the information he received from the patient and performs diagnostic tests such as X-ray to check the misalignments of the positions of the vertebra of the spine.

Chiropractic Diagnosis:

After the consultation, the physician uses the triage concept to classify the back pain of the patient. The three categories are Nerve problems, potentially dangerous cases, and non-specific illnesses.

Nerve Problems: If the roots of the lower back are compressed or pinched then there are chances for you to get severe back pains.

Potential Serious cases: Sometimes the back pain may also be caused due to the growth of a tumor, or a fracture, an open wound, burns, internal bleeding, neurological problems, and even pacemakers can cause severe back pains.

Non-Specific: Sometimes the pain cannot be defined, and no particular cause found for the back pain.

Chiropractic Adjustments:

The standard treatment for back pains is the Chiropractic Adjustments. It also called as Chiropractic Manipulations or spinal Manipulations. This involves a high-speed, and a short lever arm thrust applied on the vertebra. The pressure is the joints are released, and this causes gasses like oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide to be released.

This procedure is said to have a relieving sensation in most cases, but in some situations, there has been slight discomfort reported. The pain reported is due to the muscle spasms.

Exercise and Chiropractic:

Exercises have been a healing therapy for many ailments. Aerobic exercises can be done to have better digestion and for proper blood circulation. A brisk walking can help your muscles to be healthier and stronger.
